Again, Half Life hinted at a future path for Chop Shop, showcasing our eagerness to incorporate space mission images whenever possible. Hal Clement's book focuses on Saturn's moon, Titan, provided a unique opportunity. The plot involves a group of explorers heading to Titan to study its biochemistry, hoping to find a hint of something that could save life on Earth. A perfect chance to use real (but artistically enhanced) images from the Cassini mission which was an active mission at that point in time.

I've previously discussed how the visual style of sci-fi literature seemed outdated by the 1990s. Recently, I found an image that perfectly supports this observation. It displays three books by Hal Clement. The first book, from 1971, has a design that I personally find appealingly retro. The second book, from 1980, leads me to question the design choices of that era. The third book is the paperback version of our Half Life cover.
