Some of the greatest advancements in space exploration have occurred in Pasadena like Explorer 1, the first successfully launched U.S. space probe and science mission. The city’s renowned aerospace institutions have also pioneered missions such as Cassini, Voyager, and the Mars Curiosity Rover. Having successfully completed test flight of LightSail™ in June of 2015, the Society is has completed the execution of a fully-fledged demonstration of solar sailing with LightSail 2. The mission was deorbited on Nov 17, 2022 after 3.5 years in orbit.

The Planetary Society’s LightSail CubeSat was launched on May 20, 2015, and after a few days  successfully deployed its solar sails. As soon as early 2019, LightSail 2 will launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy, and we will attempt the first, controlled solar sail flight in Earth orbit. Sticker is vinyl and measures 3.42" x 3". Parties and events are held around the world every April in commemoration of Yuri Gagarin becoming the first human to venture into space on April 12, 1961 with Vostok 1 as the first spaceship.

NASA’s Apollo Program successfully sent twelve humans to the surface of the Moon utilizing the Lunar Excursion Module as the transporter of precious human cargo. Stickers are vinyl and kiss-cut.  When peeled the LEM measures about 2.75"

Understanding the larger universe and the many other kinds of worlds that exist within it, is how we can better understand our own home. In a Venn Diagram, The Planetary Society is where space exploration and the study of our fragile planet Earth would overlap. Size is 3"x1.75".

Updated design. We revised this design a few years ago and this is newly printed magnet stock.  Voyager 2 holds the record for most celestial bodies observed in a single mission having flown by four planetary systems. Then of course Voyager 1 also became the first man-made interstellar object with Voyager 2 expected to do the same in 2016. Magnets are 3" circular and vinyl. Ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.
