The world is celebrating Robert Goddard and his early rocket, “Nell”. The First Launch happened 100 years ago, on March 16, 1926.

Launched on March 16, 1926, in Auburn, Massachusetts, "Nell" was the world's first liquid-fueled rocket, developed by Dr. Robert H. Goddard. The flight lasted 2.5 seconds, reaching a height of 41 feet and traveling 184 feet, proving the viability of liquid propulsion.

The Planetary Society original “Clipper Logo” revised to reflect a new mission. Here the Solar System is replaced with the Jupiter System and the Clipper Ship is replaced by the Europa Clipper spacecraft swinging in between Europa and Ganymede.

This event is already shaping up to be the largest H2M yet. Phases of Exploration illustrates the growing consensus that humanity needs to get back to the moon, using that as a stepping stone to continue onward to Mars.
