Galileo asserted that the Earth was not the center of the universe. Kepler established the motion of heavenly bodies which is how we are able to find worlds hidden from view. Sagan allowed us to consider that aliens may not just be the stuff of fantasy. Drake provided a way for us to guess how many we might expect to find. These are songs that were written explicitly for The Chopping Block and Chop Shop around 2003 by They Might Be Giants, not previously available anywhere. The EP includes the two official themes for The Chopping Block, “Oranges and Graphic Design” and “Robot Design” the latter being the precursor to the kid’s song “Robot Parade”. Also included are the Chop Shop themes “I Got My T-shirt Back” and a largely misunderstood theme titled “Prisoners of Graphic Design”.
